* Refining Process Controls Engineering University New Hire
*
* you will provide technical expertise for regulatory control, Advanced Regulatory Control \(ARC\), Advanced Process Control \(APC\), and process simulation problems in the refinery\. This includes preparing functional specifications, process step testing, process model building, developing inferential models, control configuration/ programming, operator training, documentation, and DCS administration\. You will be given training specifically for the oil refining environment\. This will include a common core program Professional Refining Engineering Program \(PREP\) in understanding process engineering, refining and economics and will be followed by training in the relevant tools of multivariable control and modeling such as Aspentech DMC, Honeywell and Aspen HYSYS\. Responsibilities may include:
+ Provide support to Project and Process Engineering in review of process control and safety systems design including participation in PHA, P&ID review, and MOC processes/ procedures + Perform engineering studies reviewing/administering contractor proposals and other tasks as assigned + Use process data to establish process mass balance, and develop inferential property models and process simulations + Work closely with Operations Department to ensure reliability of process operation and control through daily monitoring of control loop and APC performance, alarm logs, and system performance + Manage and lead automation projects involving in\-house and contractor resources + Develop and implement new control configuration on existing systems +
