Harris Corporation, Critical Networks, is seeking a Weapons System Acquisition Systems Engineer to support our US Navy customer (Strategic Systems Programs) in Washington DC. This position supports SSP's nuclear weapon fuze modernization efforts. We have held this contract for close to sixty years and were recently awarded the Re-Entry System Technical Support Contract for five more years of effort. Offices are located near the Washington Navy Yard within sight of the Nation's Capital and with easy access to public transportation. The successful candidate will write technical white papers and prepare presentations, will serve as Technical Secretary for various DoD/DOE working groups, and be required to provide both written and verbal review comments on detailed test plans and reports. Will analyze detailed schedules in support of EVMS. Most importantly, candidate will provide independent assessment of the design and production efforts of the Design and Production Agents by serving as independent evaluators for formal design development, integration and qualification, as well as production reviews, and by representing the Navy customer at various meetings when they cannot be present. Qualifications:
Position requiresa Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace, Engineering, Physics, Chemistry or other related technical degree, and 10+ years of related systems engineering and acquisition experience.Musthave at least 4 years of experience managing the development, integration, qualification and/or production of complex military weapons systems andbe available for travel about 25%-35%. Additional Preferred Qualifications:
A Masters Degree in one of the above-mentioned disciplines is desirable. A PMP certification or DAWAI Level II certification in either Program Management or Systems Engineering is also desirable.
