Harris Corporation is currently seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to join our research team at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC (located near the Wilson Bridge and off of 295). This is a highly dynamic research environment where you will be working with cutting edge theories and technology. If you have the skills, a high desire to learn, like to work in a University type environment and are open to new ideas, concepts and challenging problem resolution then this is a perfect fit for you!Provide Windows platform system administration for development and production Active Directory environments. Responsible for Windows Server configuration, administration, & support of various domain controllers, terminal servers, SQL servers, backup servers, WSUS servers, VM servers, and file servers. Maintain Windows 7 & 10 workstations and laptops, as well as Mac OS X (El Capitan) workstations. This includes OS and application patching, system backups, anti-virus & other security based applications, and ensuring & maintaining compliance with DoD and NRL security standards. Provide technical support including, but not limited to, configuring hardware, performing hardware and software installations and upgrades, troubleshooting HW/SW problems, and resolving day-to-day system and user problems. Additional responsibilities include:
problem resolution, technical consulting on solutions for new projects and changed requirements, creation of operational procedures and documentation.Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and 6+ years of related work experience - Prior experience with Windows Server & Desktop platform administration in a DoD STIG-compliant environment - Experience supporting Windows 2008 & Windows 2012 enterprise-level Active Directory environments - Working knowledge of DoD STIGs and prior experience with DoD system accreditation - Hands-on experience with A.D. Group Policy - Hands-on experience with Windows PowerShell scripting - Hands-on experience supporting Dell Servers, various disk arrays & remote-attached storage devices, & various desktop & laptop hardware - Prior experience with PKI certificate-based authentication - Prior experience supporting Mac OS X - Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking, fibre-channel networking, cabling infrastructure, & data network components (routers, switches, adapters) - Familiarity with IA tools and frameworks, as well as vulnerability scanningPreferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with WSUS, SQL Server, Windows DFS, Microsoft DNS; experience with MS WDS is a plus - Experience with Microsoft Exchange operator roles is a plusSecurity Clearance:
