JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary: Draft provides best-in-class legal resources for ACC’s members regarding the unique areas of in-house practice. This position requires a significant amount of writing.

Essential Responsibilities:
-Draft first-class ACC-branded resources, based on member input and benchmarking and other sources, tackling topics and areas at the heart of in-house practice, such as, but not limited to, law department management, litigation, mergers and acquisitions, compliance, contracts, labor & employment, corporate governance, and internal investigations.
-Work with ACC’s members to submit their own forms and policies into a resource library for the benefit of other members.
-Partner with other organizations that provide first-class resources, in order to ensure ACC’s members have easy access to those resources, as well.
-Leverage ACC’s wealth of data to ensure that both the nature and quality of resources produced by ACC are aligned with member expectations.
-Exploit cutting-edge technology to deliver content and information to our members via vehicles besides PDFs, DOCs and PPTs.
-Other duties, as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervises Legal Resources Coordinator and independent contractors, as appropriate.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Juris Doctor required
Work Experience: 3+ years experience

Skills:
-Fluency in English and a second language required, with a preference for French, German, Cantonese and/or Mandarin.
-Understand unique nature of in-house practice and issues confronting the global business community.
-Writing Expertise: Ability to write clearly and persuasively. Ability to succinctly synthesize various sources.
-Excellent strategic, organizational and prioritizing skills.
-Project Management: Understands and applies principles of estimating, budgeting and work scheduling when managing projects. Understands expected outcomes and inspects work of others to ensure results match expectations before accepting work as final.
-Technology: Effectively uses Internet and/or computer technology and demonstrates comfort with technological tools and concepts. Demonstrates familiarity with products, services, and online resources in the legal area.
-Experience managing projects with cross-functional teams and successfully communicating and interacting with members representing other functions within the organization.

Capabilities:
Incumbent is expected to perform by assuming significant responsibility, having a strong sense of initiative, working with a high degree of independence, and making important and well thought out decisions and successfully directing significant courses of action on behalf of ACC with minimal supervision. Incumbent must demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to get along with diverse constituencies and personalities, including the Board, members, staff, and contacts at external organizations.
