Job Description

Summary of Position:
Professional Writer/Editor to help support ongoing business development marketing initiatives and programs. The role will include producing marketing, educational and technical information for existing and prospective clients, and working with our marketing staff and attorneys to produce sophisticated and informative pieces that are of interest to targeted clients and industries. This is a contract position reporting to the firm?s Pitch & Proposal Supervisor.
Responsibilities:

Developing and editing copy for use in the firm?s brochures, website, and other business development marketing collateral
Drafting and editing pitches and proposals, etc.
Generate experience lists for use in business development marketing materials.
Collaborate with partners and marketing colleagues to ensure all business development marketing materials adhere to branding guidelines for content, style, voice, optimization and other defined requirements
Produces copy/content to ensure proper grammar, spelling, syntax and style
Other duties as assigned
Skills:

Able to translate complex legal language into clear, simple, creative text, ability to use research to create strategic messaging points
excellent written and oral communication skills, quality-oriented, meticulous eye for detail, strong knowledge of grammar and style
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, capable of working in a diverse team environment
Strong multitasking and organizational skills, perform well under pressure and within tight and critical deadlines
Fully proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint, MS Word, comfortable learning new technology
Experience:

Previous experience in drafting/editing client presentations, proposals, marketing collateral, including brochures, fact sheets, etc., based on business development initiatives
5+ years experience as a marketing writer or editor; knowledge of law firm or professional services practices
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or related field, or the equivalent in experience
Writing sample required with all resumes.
