Job Description: Your Internship ExperienceYou will have key responsibilities similar to a full-time Supply Chain Logistics Management Associate (LMA). These experiences may include:Raw Material Planner (Leverage ERP/MRP systems to support plant production schedules)Some previous intern projects have included:Optimized warehouse utilization, resulting in potential annual savings and deferred costs of over $300,000.Towards the end of the internship, you will have the opportunity to showcase your accomplishments to the General Mills Supply Chain leadership during a wrap-up event at our World Headquarters in Minneapolis. Additionally, at the completion of the internship, you will receive a formal evaluation of your contributions and performance.Lower overall inventories and increase inventory turns as a result of material use analyses.A group project with other LMA Interns across the country that allows the intern to demonstrate interpersonal effectiveness through peer to peer interaction across multiple manufacturing facilities while gaining real world project management experience in a group format.�� The LMA intern experience includes both direct and indirect connection with other incoming interns across the manufacturing site, including such functions as Operations, Engineering, and Quality. The relationships that you build and leverage across the matrix provides for a robust Supply Chain learning experience.�� Outbound Planner (contact for customer orders, carrier and mode selection, optimize vehicle utilization)Production Scheduler (develop production schedules, optimize plant efficiency and customer service, liaison for plant operations and headquarters planning)Team Leader (manage a crew, understand operations)You will also have responsibility for accomplishing a significant logistics-oriented project which is related to a key business strategy. Supply Chain LMA Interns could work in one of the following core manufacturing plants this summer: Albuquerque, NM; Belvidere, IL; Buffalo, NY; Cedar Rapids, IA; Chanhassen, MN; Cincinnati, OH; Covington, GA; Hannibal, MO; Lodi, CA; Murfreesboro, TN;West Chicago, IL.

We are looking for LMA Intern candidates who possess strong analytical and exemplary leadership abilities. The ability to deliver outstanding results through decision making, interpersonal effectiveness, technical & process leadership, and the ability to develop and leverage a broad perspective will also be important.Degrees PreferredCompleted Sophomore or Junior year of Bachelor�� s degree program in Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering.
