Quidel Corporation is a leading manufacturer of diagnostic healthcare solutions serving to enhance the health and well being of people around the globe with well known and respected products that provide healthcare professionals with accurate and cost-effective diagnostic information at the point of care (POC). Our core competencies and capabilities focus on immunoassay and molecular testing in the areas of: infectious disease, women’s health, and virology.
Quidel is searching for a Lab Assistant to join our Athens, OH team. The Lab Assistant will be responsible in facilitating the smooth operations of our R&D labs. The employee will assist the R&D team with the general operations and compliance.
Additional responsibilities include -
Equipment – Perform routine and periodic maintenance on laboratory equipment as directed, monitor and update equipment logs, calibrate or certify equipment as needed.
Lab Supplies – Monitor and order lab supplies as directed or needed.
Lab Ware – Clean glassware and other lab equipment as needed, autoclave glassware and other items as needed.
General – Assist in the routine cleaning and organizing of the lab as needed or directed.
Experimental – Assist with experiments and procedures in the lab.
Education and Experience:
HS Diploma or equivalent and currently enrolled in degree program.
General computer skills and manual dexterity required to perform routine laboratory functions.
High school coursework with biology, chemistry and math.
Some mechanical skills.
Ability to follow directions and learn procedures.
