The Clinical Systems Application Analyst will actively contribute to an innovative team dedicated to establishing a new foundation for advancing clinical delivery and quality outcomes. The incumbent will fulfill multiple roles throughout the development, implementation, management, and on-going support of UCSD Medical Center's comprehensive clinical information systems.

Incumbent will gain knowledge of the Epic EMR software, as well as medical center operations and workflow, and will work closely with the project team's senior application analysts and clinical leaders to translate business needs into EMR functionality. Will build data sets, master files and reports, perform quality assurance and integrated testing, and release new functionality to end-users.

The incumbent will be responsible for reviewing vendor software releases and updates to test features desired and then implement them within UCSD Medical Center's system(s). Incumbent will assist in maintaining current test and training environments and will participate in training end-users. Incumbent will provide 7/24 problem management support and resolution for clinical systems.



Experience and proven success in information systems development within a large-scale Healthcare organization.

Clinical background and experience that provides understanding of healthcare operations and basic clinical care delivery.

Demonstrated experience and proven expertise in problem-solving and debugging techniques.

A Bachelor's Degree; or equivalent experience.

Proven ability in specification development, quantitative methods, system documentation and change management.

Proven ability to effectively use vendor-provided and/or other computing tools to tailor systems and applications to meet specifications and user requirements.

Demonstrated ability to plan and organize day-to-day activities along with short and long-term projects.



Experience as a major participant in a clinical system implementation.

Experience with Epic Systems' clinical systems products.

Epic-Certified in Orders, Order Transmittal and/or Charge Routing required.


Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
