DESCRIPTION

Under general supervision of IT Management, assist with the coordination, configuration, installation, support, troubleshooting and maintenance for hardware and software in a Windows and Apple environment for desktops (voice and data), mobile devices, phones and printers throughout the Health Sciences Enterprise. Configure, troubleshoot and support computing devices utilizing Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Office applications, Antivirus, telecommunications, including remote workstation management with MS SCCM and Casper.

Consult, manage and assist with planned hardware and software upgrades. Consult, manage and assist with planned hardware and software upgrades. Consult, manage and assist with assessment and implementation of data migration projects. Troubleshoot network connectivity issues. Recommend customer account access to file shares. Diagnose and recommend hardware for repairs and replacements. Manage hardware inventory supplies and diagnostic tools. Utilize automated ticketing and work flow system to manage work queues. Instruct customers on use of software.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High School Diploma.
*

Completion of UCSD Health System Skill Soft certificate with a diploma (within six (6) months).
*

At least three (3) years of relevant experience.
*

Applies support concepts to provide data and voice support to clients; assist with plan to implement hardware and software upgrades; trouble shoot and assists supervisor with resolution to PC, printer, phone, Macintosh, mobile devices, and network connectivity issues.
*

Experience providing support to clients and recommends specific customer account access.
*

Ability to consults with supervisor to assess and implement data migration.
*

Experience in analyzing, investigating and make recommendations on hardware repairs and replacements.
*

Demonstrated experience in tracking and managing hardware inventory supplies and diagnostic tools.
*

Voice and data experience and completed IT and Telecommunications cross training with standard stages of data and voice management to support the computing environments operating system and office automation software.
*

Knowledge of LAN/WAN topologies, media and access methods with experience in a mixed/open-networking environment.
*

Experience installing Windows Images with Image tools.
*

Demonstrated ability to provide support for configuring and troubleshooting Windows and Macintosh workstations.
*

Experience using MS System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and Casper tools for remote support and deployment.
*

Must be able to follow Active Directory Group Policy knowledge based on departmental standards.
*

Ability to work in a team setting to install and provide maintenance support for enterprise projects and daily customer requests using multiple systems for the UCSD Health Sciences.
*

Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with peers, subordinates, other Health Sciences staff, vendors, contractors, and outside agencies.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

* Five (5) years of relevant experience.

* CompTia A+ certification desired.

* Completion of UCSD System Administrator training series.

* Completion of UCSD A+ Essentials: Security & Networking Comp TIA Security+, Apple Certified Macintosh Technician, CompTIA Net+ certification from authorized testing center.
