The Medicaid Waiver Process Improvement Project Manager is responsible for managing the process improvement activities of multiple complex Medicaid Waiver initiatives with a focus on team facilitation and leading process improvement efforts across the continuum of care. The incumbent will manage projects which include: gathering and evaluating clinical data from the organization; analyzing data for patterns and trends in care delivery; coordinating process improvement teams and facilitating and/or leading improvement efforts.
The incumbent will work with clinicians, leadership and staff to change processes and implement best practices that ensure good quality care and minimize harm to the patient. Collaborates with Clinical Decision Support, Clinical Informatics, Project leaders/stakeholders, Chief Medical Officer and other senior leaders to meet project goals and milestones. Also actively participates in and contributes to drafting content for the Semi-annual report due to the State. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Graduation from college with a major in business administration, statistics, industrial engineering, public health or hospital administration, education administration, or an allied healthcare field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Six (6) years of related experience in clinical operations and/or process improvement analysis or operations research; and three (3) years of specific, applicable and demonstrable process or quality improvement or project management experience.
Highly proficient with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) applications.
Outstanding written/oral communication skills and organizational skills required.
Ability to independently handle multiple projects with changing priorities.
Experience in a complex, acute-care provider environment.
Experience as a clinician.
A Master s Degree.
Six Sigma/Lean or comparable training.
Project Management training.
Familiarity with databases and data management.
Familiar with UCSD policies, procedures, and systems.
Must be able to work various hours & locations based on business needs.
