The Line Cook is responsible for creating an exceptional culinary experience for restaurant guests through the preparation and presentation of the restaurants menu. A cook at this level requires some supervision and training. Preparation of foods according to customers' orders or supervisors' instructions, following approved procedures. Preps food for service in accordance to established standardized recipes. Sets up station and ensures that the work area is operated in an efficient manner. Follows recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications as set by the restaurant. Restocks items as needed throughout shift. Supports the cross-training efforts of the chef. Informs supervisor of any kitchen machinery that is not working properly. Properly stores food in designated containers and areas to prevent spoilage. Assists in the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers, and all storage areas Be familiar with applicable emergency procedures and evacuations including fire, bomb threat, power failure, and injury to and illness of persons. Follows hotel and departmental policies and procedures. Performs related duties as assigned.
