This position provides technical expertise and engineering required to support the design, development, implementation, and verification of machining/mechanical curriculum and training. This position will also support continuous improvement to existing curriculum and technical training, as directed by Regional Training Center (RTC) Management. Position will serve as a corporate resource to all Engineering, Maintenance, and Management teams from each Hitachi Automotive site. This position exercises independent judgment routinely and operates within established guidelines.
Under direct supervision, plan, develop, coordinate, and carry out instruction for machining curriculum and technical courses as required for existing and new technology, as assigned by RTC Management.
Develop new technical training presentation material and concepts, investment plans, project timelines, and attend necessary instructor training to meet targeted machining/mechanical course launch schedules.
Per RTC Management direction, execute all aspects of new course development including, training design concept, training equipment design and development, investment strategy, project schedule, return on investment information necessary to obtain corporate approval, request for quotations, supplier selection, issuance of purchase requisition to generate purchase order, and coordination of equipment installation.
Develop periodic improvement plan and lead implementation for courses in an effort to improve attendee comprehension, process validity, and overall course evaluation.
Consult with site Production Engineering, Equipment Build Team, and RTC Management to align curriculum and identify process specific experts for the execution of instruction.
Support activities and training through the Engineering & Skill Training Center (ESTC, Japan) at domestic sites.
Provide advanced technical support to other departments, as necessary, including troubleshooting and resolution of area specific technology, process, or equipment issues.
Maintain strict confidentiality of training/trainee information and curriculum as set forth by RTC Management is required.
Maintain conditions of RTC training areas, per company 4C guidelines, and promote compliance in maintaining a professional working environment.
Maintain compliance regarding the transportation and security of RTC training PCs.
Support all business objectives of the company by aligning RTC activities with the organizational goals and objectives.
Associates Degree in Career & Technical Education preferred.
3-5 years prior teaching experience required.
Two-year Machinist Degree/Certificate preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Required to sit or stand for long periods of time. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime including weekends and holidays.
TRAVEL: Some domestic travel required (average less than 1 week per month) and International travel is not expected, to meet standard job requirements.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily classroom/lab carrying out instruction with reasonable time in the office for curriculum improvements.
