JOB DESCRIPTIONMachine operators:
Machine operators perform a variety of task before, during and after the machine produces a unit. Tasks include:
Change-over of machines to "fit" the next unit specifications
Calibrating machines to the production specifications
Placing productions pieces into the machines utilizing motorized cranes and hoists
Starting the machines to perform the appropriate tasks
Inspection the production piece both visually and with measuring devices (micrometers, cameras, scopes) to ensure specifications are met
Removing production pieces with hoists and crane and moving them to the next operation.
Maintaining machines and work area to plant and machine specifications to ensure quality process.
Machine operators need to be proficient in math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) to three decimal places x.xxx" as well as be able to read and understand written instructions. The ability to read and understand precision measuring instruments is highly desireable.
While performing this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time as well as push, pull and move rolling carts with loads as high as 250 lbs.
