Job Description
Adecco is currently looking for a Material Planner to work in the Budd Lake area.
Basic Function of the position:
College degree required. Two plus years of relevant planning experience preferred. APICS affiliation is important with certification (CPIM) preferred.
Responsible for planning and monitoring all dependent and independent demand and inventory levels generated by materials requirements planning (MRP) in SAP.
Works under general direction and independently has decision making authority to plan materials to produce product and purchase materials worth up to $275,000 dollars without management approval.
Support optimal service levels, while maintaining efficient planning, adequate raw material resource supplies and on time release of orders for efficient plant operations and to meet divisional and departmental inventory investment objectives and customer service requirements.
Monitor and challenge processes and systems to continually improve and exceed customer expectations.
Analyze and validate MRP requirements output to determine quantities and delivery dates.
Create firm orders and determine material availability prior to MFG.
Communicate and identify issues and expedite shortages that prevent timely order fulfillment.
Ensure product quality and compliance with all purchasing policies / contracts and procedures.
Arrange inbound transportation and provide require documents for customer clearance.
Maintain and update system with information provided on delivery timing, quantity and pricing changes.
Track all orders through and resolve supplier issues related to the execution (quality and service).
Communicate to customer service personally, via email and Order Tracking System all information that impacts customer orders & service.
Analyze inventory levels using various tools to minimize shortages and waste. Assist in obsolescence / excess material review. Collaborate with Production and QC to insure maximum use of inventory through blending where possible.
Update raw material MRP planning parameters (min balance, lots sizes etc) for new items along with changes required for
existing items. Analyze and maintain key performance indicators.
