Responsible for innovative mechanical system design for our next generation equipment
sensors and process control instruments. Responsibilities include:
Conduct system architectural design.
Generate mechanical system/sub-system design specifications by analyzing performance requirement, critical customer needs, tolerances, error budget, cost and manufacturing process constraints.
Conduct opto-mechanical and precision mechanism design, from concept layout to detail
Conduct mechanical system analysis and design optimization by mathematical modeling,
structural and/or thermal FEA, and incorporate appropriate manufacturing
technologies into the design.
Equipment motion control system development. Generate motion control system spec and
define the qualifying test procedures.
Design experiments and conduct feasibility study for proof of concept.
Comply with the product life cycle (PLC) procedures
Create technical documents and execute the document control procedures (ECN, ECO).
Provide technical support for both manufacturing and customers.
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required. MS/Ph.D. is preferred.
7+ years hands-on experience in mechanical design in semiconductor equipment
industry; Strong training and working experiences in the following areas:
o Creo Parametric for modeling and drawing
o Windchill for CAD data management
o Agile for document control
o Finite element analysis in structures, thermal and fluid flow
o Tolerance analysis
o State-of-the-art manufacturing technologies
o Motion control technologies
o Building test bench and prototype systems to valid design concept.
o 5+ years experience of opto-mechanical design of optical modules for sensors or
metrology equipment, preferred
o Knowledge about semiconductor manufacturing processes and optical metrology.
o Strong interpersonal skills
o Ability to quickly learn about new technologies and products
o Capable of leading R&D projects.
o Works effectively in a cross-functional team environment
o Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
