b Description /b p Summary: /p p The Medical Director will function as a scientific and medical resource for the Medical Affairs department at Seattle Genetics, as well as other groups across the company.  He or she will work together with the VP of Medical Affairs and Senior Medical Director, Medical Affairs to effectively develop strategy and manage the cross-functional medical affairs plan. This person will be responsible for providing medical expertise and leadership to the medical affairs and commercial teams and have responsibility for execution of specific projects. The role will interface with multiple internal functions including medical information, medical communication, medical affairs operations, field medical science liaisons, commercial (marketing, sales, managed markets), health outcomes, regulatory, clinical development and safety as well as external partners and physicians in the community. /p p Responsibilities: /p p Specific duties are outlined below but are not limited to: /p ul li style="" Develop and execute strategy for the scientific utilization of the data generated by Seattle Genetics preclinical and clinical studies /li li style="" Work with the Executive Medical Director and other colleagues to serve on project teams as Medical Affairs representative and medical expert /li li style="" Participate in cross-functional medical affairs teams with the goal of developing and implementing integrated medical strategies for Seattle Genetics products /li li style="" Collaborate with the field medical liaison team and support reactive material development to address their healthcare provider questions /li li style="" Collaborate with MA Operations group to evaluate and manage Investigator Sponsored Trial and Translational Research Agreement efforts /li li style="" Collaborate with Medical Information specialists on the development of medical information letters and documents /li li style="" Provide appropriate medical input for MA activities /li li style="" Literature review and summaries to support MA activities /li li style="" Help identify and effectively interact with thought leaders to engage in scientific exchange to meet the needs of patients and advance the science /li li style="" Serve as a reviewer on the medical affairs review committee (MARC) /li li style="" Serve as medical lead on strategy and conduct of Phase 4 studies /li li style="" Lead and coordinate assigned projects and related medical aspects /li li style="" Assure appropriate close coordination with Commercial and Marketing teams to compliantly support their efforts /li li style="" Coordinate with Clinical and Translational Medicine teams on strategic priorities and study support /li li style="" Assist as needed in preparation of manuscripts, abstracts and presentations for scientific meetings /li /ul p Other Competencies: /p ul li style="" Demonstrated passion for helping patients with cancer and for the science of hematology and oncology, as well as other therapeutic areas identified /li li style="" Strong leadership presence and the ability to work effectively with other clinical and scientific leaders /li li style="" Collaborative style both internally with other company leadership, but also with external thought leaders, medical professionals, and partners, /li li style="" A team player; works well in a team environment both as a leader and a contributor /li li style="" Open, engaging and transparent.  Comfortable with conflict and able to push back when needed /li li style="" Global perspective and mindset; ability to work effectively with colleagues from myriad cultures, backgrounds and geographies /li /ul
