JOB DESCRIPTIONJOB DESCRIPTION:
The principle areas of responsibility are to provide technical and managerial leadership to the functions of equipment reliability, maintenance planning and scheduling, facility maintenance, training, computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), and root cause failure analysis. This role will function as a partner with the Operations, Quality, Engineering and Electrical groups in support of the company effort to be the supplier of choice of its customers and the lowest cost producer in our industry. A proactive leadership role is expected in the development and administration of policy and procedures regarding safety, environmental, and employee issues.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
* Over 5 years on the job experience in maintenance, specifically roofing, is preferred
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS (ADVANCED)
* Intermediate to advanced MS Office & skills
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of mechanical and electrical industrial systems and controls
* Entry to intermediate knowledge of Six Sigma manufacturing practices
* Intermediate to advanced knowledge of maintenance best practices such as PM, PdM, RCA, maintenance planning, scheduling, work execution, & feedback systems
* Intermediate to advanced budgeting, accounting and finance skills
* Intermediate project management
* Advanced analytical and mathematical skills

Provide technical and managerial leadership through development and application of predictive and preventive maintenance methods. Set the direction for collection and use of manufacturing process data and equipment data for condition based maintenance work (MWO). Set a standard of excellence in maintenance work performed by employees and contractors. Through innovative technical improvements, increase equipment reliability and extend equipment life while giving consistent performance. Champion implementation of maintenance best practices such as PM, PdM, RCA, maintenance planning, scheduling, work execution, & feedback systems. Analyze repeat failures and take appropriate action to reduce risk of future failures. Conduct asset criticality rating and ensure top assets have appropriate asset maintenance plans. Ensure accurate equipment history maintained through Maximo. Utilize six sigma and centerlining methodologies to reduce downtime, slow time, and waste.
PLANNING AND SCHEDULING
Set the direction that provides for efficient and effective use of maintenance employees skill and time for daily, weekly, and shutdown maintenance work. Ensure maintenance work priorities are in alignment with plant and company objectives. Planning and scheduling development is conducted in an environment based on teamwork that optimizes the maintenance time required with equipment conditions that provide consistent performance using equipment reliability and condition based maintenance methods and techniques.
Provide for facility maintenance needs that are required to efficiently and effectively meet the needs of the company in essential care of grounds and buildings. Direct maintenance efforts that ensure facilities are not a barrier to equipment reliability, are safe and environmentally compliant with all requirements.
TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT
Initiate a training and development program for mechanical maintenance and supervisory personnel that provides for continuous learning applied to improving our operations. Continuous focus on employee skills, knowledge and ability, and their application in performance of maintenance work in an excellent manner. Establish and maintain a system for evaluation of employee skills and knowledge and assessment of ability to apply them to their work. Lead department from reactive to proactive mindset. Develop and communicate department vision.
