Assumes responsibility for the overall functioning of the clinical areas. Coordinates nursing care and practice as well as wound care activities in conjunction with the philosophy, policies, procedures and program plans of the hospital. Evaluates appropriateness of wound consult patients, coordinates care/patient education and follow-up. Acts as a liaison with physicians and other health care team members. Participates in house-wide skin/wound care programs for staff education and patient care as needed including Prevalence and Competency Days. Develops and participates in unit PI Assumes some varied and flexible scheduling to meet patient and staff needs. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age specific needs and provide age specific treatment and care.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the State of New Jersey. Experienced and demonstrates clinical competence in Wound Care. Minimum of 1 year previous Wound Care experience. Current BLS certification required. Wound and Ostomy certification or completion within 1 year of hire.
