About The Opportunity

Under close supervision, operates thermal spray equipment and coats a cost effective quality part to comply with customer and company specifications. Key Responsibilities

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES/DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Verifies paperwork, such as: Assures the traveler S/N and the part S/N match and the operation REV letter on the traveler and the operation sheets match.

May set up thermal spray (plasma, wire, HVOF) apparatus including selecting the appropriate fixtures and identifying the proper spray schedule.

Performs the masking and surface preparation functions (cleaning, grit blasting) required to prepare parts for thermal spray.

Identifies problems with thermal spray equipment.

Performs or is demonstrably able to perform basic types of thermal spray coating such as copper nickel, copper nickel indium, and nickel aluminum, except ceramic carbides, carbide coatings, and other fatigue-sensitive coatings and/or fatigue critical part locations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Prefers 1 year thermal spray experience in a manufacturing or industrial repair, preferably aerospace environment.

Must display an aptitude and willingness to learn all applicable coating materials and processes and pass any required eye examinations.

Must be able to read and understand written planning and follow verbal instructions. About Us
