JOB DESCRIPTIONPosition Description
The Pharmacy Tech I will be responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in filling, compounding, and dispensing physician orders. Performs various technical duties involved with the handling, packaging, and delivery of pharmaceuticals. Provides patient care services to neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Position Requirements
1. Current registration as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Georgia.
2. High school diploma or equivalent OR Pharmacy student with an Intern License issued by the State Board of Pharmacy in lieu of certification.
3. Non-certified technicians will have two years from the date of employment to successfully complete the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board Exam. Pharmacy Students have a pharmacy intern license and are therefore exempt from certification.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, coworkers, and others as necessary.
1. Previous hospital pharmacy experience.

The Department of Pharmaceutical Services at Northside Hospital ensures the safe, effective and timely use of medications for our patient populations. 24/7, our Pharmacists practice direct, responsible provision of medication-related care for the purpose of achieving definite outcomes that improve
patients quality of life.
Our Pharmacists promote the safe and effective use of medications by collaborating with medical staff
and other professionals formally through the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee. We actively participate on interdisciplinary patient care rounds, Clinical Guideline Teams, CQI Teams and a variety of hospital and medical staff committees.
