VCU Health Systems is seeking a full-time Physician Assistant for the Division of Acute Care Surgical services which is the regions primary provider of advanced trauma and critical care services. PA responsibilities will include....evaluate trauma and critical care patients alongside trauma attending on inpatient surgical trauma intensive care unit, manage medical and surgical conditions on acute care floor to include discharge planning and patient triage, post-operative management and continuity of care in outpatient trauma clinic, outpatient surgical assists, and management of trauma victims in the emergency department setting

Clinical decision making in collaboration with physicians and daily prioritization of activities.
May supervise and/or coordinate the activities of other medical and support staff as it relates to patient care.
Based on area of assignment, may be required to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays and required to take call.
Work schedules are subject to change based on patient and service needs.


Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
Successful completion of the Physician Assistant National Certifying Exam (PANCE)
Current license as a Physician Assistant by the Virginia Board of Medicine
Current PA-C certification
Current CPR and BLS certifications
Current ACLS certification where needed
Current prescriptive authority/licensure by the Virginia Board of Medicine
Credentialing in accordance with medical staff by-laws for specific job title
Previous clinical experience with the population served

Three (3) years of previous clinical experience with the population served
Previous experience in an academic healthcare system Full time 1: Days
