Within STANLEY Engineered Fastenings automotive division, an opening is currently available for a Tooling & Costing Process Engineer at our office in Troy, MI. This main goal of this position is for providing technical support to the Manufacturing Department with some localized travel to our Plant in Chesterfield MI.
Ideal candidate will have 3 or more years of experience in Engineering with a Bachelor s Degree in Engineering or related field. Some specific knowledge with working with process data and cost would be a benefit.
Responsibilities would include a detail focused with process data, producing project plans and maintaining records of new projects; while maintaining standardization and process improvements.
Working on concepts and cost for various plastic assembly methods and packaging, for new launch of fastener projects.
Work effectively in a cross-functional project team environment; maintaining successful working relationships with product group engineering, manufacturing, and other SBD departments. Essential Skills & Experience:
Ability to work with data and knowledgeable of analytical tools & problem-solving methodologies
Analyze existing and new process supporting the ECN engineering change systems with item master data for bills of material, part routings within system database.
Provides support during the manufacturing of sample parts collecting and analyzing process data for launch activities
Supports cost estimating activities for new products by providing recommendations on processing methods and costs
Evaluate and improve on processes within manufacturing systems and provide alternatives to concepts.
Maintains process methods while working to STANLEY Engineered Fastenings global engineering standards
Knowledge of project management techniques; with opportunities to cross train and share technology within the engineering team
Working collaboratively with quality and product engineering to Support DFMEA, Control Plans, DVP&R and testing.
Working within a manufacturing team structure, communicates regular updates to management on project status
Strong project management skills, with Proficiency with MS Office software, including MS Project, Power point and Excel. 3D design and Six Sigma (experience preferred)
