Job Description:
U. S. Steel is Seeking an experienced Program Manager to work with a team to manage and implement strategic and tactical capita/cost projects that will revitalize our assets in our downstream steel coil and coating facility called Irvin which is part of our Mon Valley Complex in Pittsburgh PA. The Program Manager will be part of the business unit entity of Consumer Solutions and accountable to deliver the KPI and benefits for the investment that are approved and planned. S/he will execute these KPIs/benefits by effectively and efficiently working in a matrix organization. Specifically, S/he will work closely with other project teams, quality, engineering, operations management, and hourly employees to ensure successful launch of the projects under the program. The Program Manager is a passionate, ambitious professional who can deliver results in a fast-paced growing company. This program manager will report to the Director of PMO for Mon Valley Works.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interface with FP&A, Quality, Maintenance, Engineering and Operation teams to flawlessly execute the cost/capital portfolio of projects.
Coordination of internal and external resources. Engages Unit operations to ensure communication, training and procedures are developed.
Ensure projects are developed with technical feasibility, delivered on time, within scope and budget. Coordinate customer s demands with the projects demands to have a flawless roll out of the projects.
Keep operator and maintenance personnel up to date on project scope and progress.
Develop commissioning and start up plans. Develop ramp up curve including required substrate requirements. Develop outage plans.
Update engineering on current and ongoing line problems impacting quality and reliability.
Update engineering on current customer problems and concerns.
Research state of the art tin technology
Coordinate development of SOP documents and SJP documents.
Develop operating manpower requirements
Demonstrated analytical ability necessary to anticipate and identify issues and recommend solutions

REQUIREMENTS:
Project Management or Operational Engineering BS degree required (or equivalent experience)
Experience with managing a budget and financial analysis
Ability to manage and execute multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Ability to manage uncertainty and operate independently
Experience conducting root-cause analysis and solving problems creatively
Solid technical background, with understanding or experience in project management is important. Must be knowledgeable in the use of Microsoft Office, as well as be capable of learning and using other USS software, such as Oracle.
