The SGS On-site Project Manager (PM) will be responsible for coordinating package design development activities and managing timelines from mechanical development and approval through to color separations for Pepperidge Farm Snacks, International, Food Service, and Fresh and Frozen Bakery Business. The position will require strong communication and organizational skills, knowledge of the various phases of packaging production (production art, prepress and printing), significant experience in the production and management of mechanical artwork, print management, and the ability to simultaneously manage mechanical timelines associated with Pepperidge artwork. The PM will play a key, proactive role in maintaining schedules and timelines at design transition and after digital artwork approval. Collaboration across multiple departments within both Pepperidge and SGS will be critical, as will the ability to properly communicate potential delays within a project that concern production art development and prepress deliverables. The PM will work closely with the SGS Account Manager to ensure that projects are completed on-time and within the guidelines of the SGS/Pepperidge Workflow Process. Responsibilities: 1. Daily Critical Responsibilities Specific to the Pepperidge Relationship * Resides in the Packaging Department at Pepperidge Farm * Point person for assigned projects routing through the digital art and prepress process * Responsible for scheduling and leading Pre-Production meetings with Design Management team prior to Design Transition for new design * Responsible for managing the Pre Pro Document on all project specifications * Manage drawdown requests with printers for new design * Timeline owner for mechanical development - ownership and management begins after design transition and extends through to mechanical approval and file release to the respective printer * Works with the SGS/AD to provide estimates for design and production for PF Design Managers * Responsible for input to the status sheet for all active projects * Creates Cost to Date (CTD) Sheets for all projects on SharePoint * Facilitates design direction as directed by the PF/DM and SGS Production * Primary point of contact for Pepperidge mechanical production deliverables * Responsible for Project Initiation and Mechanical Routing in iLink/Blue * Responsible for Mechanical Release and notification * Responsible for updating the SGS/AD on project status * Responsible for coordinating and scheduling color submits * Final QC content check on all mechanicals against contract proof or HP proofs * Provides back up to the second PM On-site when necessary * The PM is responsible for providing effective communications to the following entities: * SGS PF Account Director * SGS PM Onsite and CSR Representatives * SGS Technical Print Manager * Pepperidge Farm Senior Design Manager * Pepperidge Farm Design Managers * Pepperidge Cross Functional Team (Brand, Legal, Regulatory, Package Development, R+D) 2. "Packaging Status Sheet" * Update weekly based on input from PF DM team (e.g., new projects, revised timelines, notes and other revisions) * Monitor daily updates - UPC Numbers, SAP item codes, actual dates, die numbers, comments/status * Provide ongoing support to create other options for status input and output capability 3. iLINK (BLUE) Electronic Workflow * Responsible for project input into iLink/Blue 1 to 2 weeks before scheduled "kick-off" date * Projects are tracked by the PM, and followed through to mechanical release for prepress production * Upload all reference documents in iLink/Blue * Manage the electronic review process to completion and maintain workflow consistency * Create electronic project folder on SharePoint once project is initiated. (Assure that the following materials reside in the Project Folder) * Design file pdfs * Creative Brief * Copy of LCM(s) * Copy Document * Die line * Estimates and POs * Other important correspondence pertaining to the project 4. eCom 3D Asset Uploads + DAL File Conversion and Kwikee Push * Assist the DAM role with assets relating to 3Ds and eCom Bundles * Ensure the DAM is aware of schedule changes that would impact asset availability * Help the DAM to secure product for 3Ds if needed * Search all assets once uploaded on the DAL and AEM so that search functionality can be confirmed for the DAM 5. Sale Samples/Comp Process Management * Assist the PF Design Manager with Sale Sample/Comp needs * Ensure the Sale Sample/Comp project is captured on status with timing and specifics * Provide "Estimate Request" from SGS comp resource * Communicate costs to the DM and enter live project on the Sale Sample/Comp Tracker * Follow project through with pdf approvals prior to production and photo approvals of initial comp(s) * Ensure that the job delivers on time and complete 6. Meetings + Miscellaneous Responsibilities * Attend weekly Procurement Production Meeting * Attend weekly status call with SGS Norwalk * Attend bi-weekly GDVE Meeting * Attend Pre-production meetings as required per project * Attend Snacks or Bakery Watch-list meetings bi-weekly * Field file requests from DMs, Promotion, Sales and Agencies * Assist the DMs to Manage Sales Samples and Comp requests * DAL support, administration and training * BLUE/iLink support, administration and training * Maintain traditional files for the following: * Printed product samples; make tabs, labels, cut printed roll stock samples 7. Production KPI Tracking + File Requests * Populate the Access Database for KPI tracking for all projects * Populate the file request log to track all file requests 8. Participation in PF Team Functions * Attend events/meetings as requested with the Package Design Team * Attend and participate in PF sponsored Team Building functions - as requested. 9.
