JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY The Research Professional will assist Assistant Professor of Economics Jonathan Dingel on new and ongoing projects in international economics and urban economics. The ongoing research projects include collaborations with coauthors at universities such as Berkeley, Columbia, Princeton, Santa Barbara, and Wharton. The Research Professional builds and manages data sets, conducts field research, conducts statistical analysis, and edits research documentation. Additionally, provide general assistance to faculty members. Attendance is required at various events, including selected research seminars. Ideal candidates are considering an application to PhD programs in economics or related disciplines. The position is expected to last one to two years. The preferred start date is June 1, 2018, but is flexible. To be considered for the fall round of interviews, please apply online by November 17, 2017.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Supports ongoing research projects and faculty by gathering, compiling, processing, and manipulating data.
-Obtains and organizes information for research from other academic institutions and practitioners.
-Proofreads and edits citations of funded research reports, working papers, and publications.
-Maintains effective communication with all members of the faculty and outside institutions.
