Application Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force, and are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. Working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate, the Application Engineer must be able to identify and provide reliable solutions for all technical issues to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. The Application Engineer must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

* Maintain expert level of electronic device knowledge, advanced technology and product applications.

* Articulate technology and Benchmark capabilities to both internal sales teams and customers.

* Provide design and specification development support to customers, project managers, and engineering teams.

* Respond to functional and technical elements of RFIs/RFPs.

* Listen, understand and convey customer requirements.

* Perform technical engineering capability training for internal Benchmark sales people and account representatives.

* Assist in the development of technical presentations necessary to sell engineering services to target accounts.

* Maintain accurate records of accounts, opportunities, quotes, projects, contacts and correspondence in company approved databases.

* Travel to customer sites to preform technical presentations, information gathering, quote support and establish customer relationships.

* Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the Benchmark mission, values, and financial objectives.

* Maintain professional business relationships within target accounts.

* Provide status of ongoing projects and future projects.

* Resolve customer issues or difficulties in a manner that is consistent with the Benchmark mission, values, and financial objectives.

* Identify customer's needs and sales opportunities to help future growth.

* Experience in key industries such as Medical, Automotive, Gas and Oil, Aerospace, Military and Defense.

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Microsoft PowerPoint.

* Ability to read architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints and have a solid understanding of basic electrical and mechanical devices and products.

* A solid understanding of product development, new product introduction and volume electronic device manufacturing.

* Strong communication, Interpersonal and organizational skills.

* Available for Travel 25%

5+ Years in Engineering, product development and/or test development environment

BA/BS in Engineering, Technical Field, or equivalent successful experience in a similar product development or contract engineering industry role.
