Job Summary

Working with Project Managers and technical leads, the Senior Programmer Analyst is responsible for the timely completion of systems and programming tasks for complex or business-critical applications. These tasks might include system design, coding, testing, installation, documentation and post-installation audits, all performed in accordance with established standards. Typically, the Senior Programmer Analysts is assigned to one or more business units of medium to large size and the project assignments are medium to large scale, moderately to highly complex, and/or moderately to highly visible.

Responsibilities

* Performs routine data collection, organization, workflow and support analysis

* Provides direction/support for the preparation of quality deliverables

* Leads and applies department s methodologies to assignments

* Defines workflow for improvements and resolving issues

* Documents and presents project status

* Coordinates expectations and deliverables on inter/intra projects

* Leads on departmental projects and initiatives

* Manages personal and group time in Expense Plans/project work (area of expertise)

* Maintains expected levels of personal productivity

* Supports special projects and analysis related to initiative

* Analyzes data, trends or obstacles and consider available solutions or alternative methods of proceeding

* Develops applications to support one or more business units, including design, coding and installation of new systems

* Defines processing logic and translates business requirements into code for the more complex projects required by the business area, employing established programming standards

* Conducts program tests, audits and verifies results for accuracy

* Maintains expertise in the latest state-of-the-art techniques and languages as they pertain to the existing and planned processing environments

* Assists in implementing procedures and serves as a resource to expeditiously resolve program-related operating difficulties

* Supports the communication of project status and the identification and reporting of project issues to project management

* Demonstrates and shares understanding of department s project management tools and methodologies

* Supports business analysts in the preparation of business and functional requirements

* Demonstrates and shares understanding of department s business analysis tools and methodologies

Qualifications / Requirements

Qualifications of position (in bullet format only no line spacing in between bullets)

* A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline, or equivalent work experience and technical training, is required

* Minimum of six year of systems analysis and programming experience

* Programming language and operating system expertise consisting of, but not limited to the following; C, C++, UNIX, Windows NT, JAVA, EJB, Tuxedo, Vitria, Tibco and object oriented languages (such as Powerbuilder or Visual Basic)

* Experience in systems design

* Experience developing and deploying applications in a multi-tier environment

* Experience working within a formal methodology for software development

* Experience in full project lifecycle including all stages of design, development and implementation of custom applications as well as the deployment of packaged solutions

* Experience in application development utilizing a relational database such as Oracle or Sybase

* Ability to perform multiple tasks and adjust priorities based on workload and direction from management

* Strong verbal and written communications skills

* A full understanding of project management processes and tasks
