JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY We are seeking a dynamic Systems Chief Architect to join our team! Reporting directly to the Director of Research and Development you will serve as the technical leader in Beckman Coulter urinalysis R&D, and provide technical directions in the development of next generation of IVD systems and enhancement of legacy systems.
This is a very challenging position as we expect the Chief Architect to demonstrate the technical leadership in critical R&D projects and collaborate with key stakeholders to map the blueprints for future technologies in IVD systems.
The final, and definitely the most important, part of the position is we work on a product where failure is not an option. People depend on our product to make life saving decisions so we put in the effort and discipline upfront so we can sleep every night knowing our customers, and ultimately patients, are getting a product you can trust your life with.
Provides technical direction in the design and development of the next generation IVD systems.
Leads technical troubleshooting, feature implementation, and reliability improvement for legacy IVD systems.
Provides technical guidance to the Hardware, Software, Systems and Testing teams.
Interfaces with users, program sponsors, and key stakeholders (PMO, QA, RA, MFG Transfer, Service, Reagents and Consumable R&D, and other R&D organizations) to determine customer requirements and product development requirements.
Partitions large systems into (successive layers of) subsystems and components. Collaborates with subsystem owner in defining the performance acceptance criteria.
Interfaces with the design and implementation engineers, so that any problems arising during design or implementation can be resolved in accordance with the fundamental design concepts, and user needs and constraints.
Responsibility in High level planning for the development - overall steps for creation of the solution from the blueprints.
Responsibility in managing integration constraints - rules and constraints for all components going into the solution.
Responsibility in assessing alternative solutions and managing other constraints (e.g. cost, schedule, space, safety, usability, reliability, serviceability, scalability, and commonality)
Responsibility in providing technical directions in reliability improvement, system cost reduction, R&D ROI, and overall risk management.
Performs gap analysis, trade-off analysis, risk analysis, and FMEA at differences phases of product development.
Acts as a technical mentor for the engineers with diverse disciplines and background.
Develops solid understanding of Danaher Business System tools and applies to day-to-day work.
Ensures compliance to organizational policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
