JOB DESCRIPTIONAPPLY Superior Group is hiring a Senior Systems Engineer for a Direct Hire opportunity with a leading medical technology company in the Orchard Park area. The Senior Systems Engineer will design, build, maintain, monitor, and document Windows and Linux based server and networking infrastructure. Maintain user accounts, manage server/network security, server capacity, and system backups. Apply operating system updates and patches. Troubleshoot server, network, and application problems. Support innovation with timely and effective contributions to new and ongoing initiatives.
Esstential Duties and Responsibilities:
Analyze and develop necessary design work, including testing and documentation of server, and network infrastructure
Analyze network and server problems. Initiate corrective action as needed
Develop clear and concise documentation of all systems
Independently manage corporate security initiatives
Maintain a virtual server environment, build and configure new virtual servers
Install software applications and integrate with existing systems
Shares on-call duties with other individuals within the Technical Operations department
Schedule and monitor automated scheduled tasks on Windows and Linux servers
Support Network Engineer/Administrator in the configuration, monitoring, and administration of routers, firewalls, VPN servers, and load balancers
Manage and configure SAN, direct attached storage and enterprise backup
Provide detailed specifications necessary to procure and document technology assets
Manage server and network user security
Test, install, and provide technical support for all technology related systems
Maintain, test and document disaster recovery initiatives
Maintain all documentation, configuration standards, and activity logs necessary for SOC audit compliance
Manage data center operations including power and environmental systems
Required Skills / Qualifications:
Associate's Degree in CIS or related field.
Minimum 5 years of Network and Systems Administration experience.
Minimum 5 years experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
Minimum 5 years experience working with network hardware, including file server, gateways, routers, storage systems, and enterprise back-ups.
Minimum 3 years experience with Active Directory and network domain architectures.
Minimum 3 years expereince with the design, construction, configuration and maintenance of virtual server environments.
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
Familiarity with configuring systems to service externally-facing customers with a high-availability and business continuity robust and resilient architecture.
Team player with strong work ethic.
Bachelor's Degree in CIS or related field.
