JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARYResponsible for all phases of accounting, including financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and general ledger maintenance, as well as use sound technical skills and solid judgment to provide leadership within the accounting team.



* Perform regular and recurring accounting functions requiring professional competency

* Generate, review, analyze, and communicate financial data that reflects actual financial performance against approved budgets

* Establish appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions, and reporting

* Analyze complex accounting transactions

* Audit items in order to calculate costs

* Maintain general ledger and close books monthly

* Prepare and assist with cash management, accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, accruals, and reconciliations

* Prepare comprehensive financial reporting packages for projects, clients, or business units, monthly and as needed

* Ensure books and financials are in accordance with GAAP or other required accounting standards

* Review fixed asset ledgers to ensure items are properly capitalized and depreciated

* Provide assistance with audit ledgers and assist in providing information for outside audits

* Research and analyze complex accounting issues

* Apply the financial policies and procedures of the company and bring inconsistencies, problems, and recommendations to the attention of management

* Direct Property Managers or Business Unit leaders through the preparation of their annual budgets

* Review and approve projects and ledgers prepared by Accountants

* Contribute to operational and process improvements

* Perform special projects as assigned


* Bachelor's Degree

* 4+ years of accounting experience

* Or any similar combination of education and experience

* CPA preferred

* Strong knowledge of accounting or database software packages

* Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

* Ability to use a 10 Key computer board

* Ability to train, mentor, and coach others

* Strong problem solving ability

* Effective and efficient time management and delegation skills

* Detail oriented and thorough; ability to review accounting documents for complete accuracy

* Proven record of providing excellent internal and external customer service

* Excellent oral and written communication skills


* Involves work of a general office nature; typically includes extended periods of sitting and/or operation of a computer

* Regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to write and type

* Ability to speak clearly so others can understand you

* Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented orally and in writing

* Ability to communicate information and ideas in writing and orally so others will understand

* Regularly required to utilize vision abilities, allowing reading of printed material, graphics, and computer displays
