DESCRIPTION/JOB SUMMARY

Resources for Human Development (www.rhd.org) is a comprehensive, non-profit, social-service organization. RHD currently oversees and supports more than 160 locally-managed human-service programs in 15 states. RHD s mission is to empower people as they build the highest level of independence possible, building better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.

Resources for Human Development is seeking to hire Therapeutic Residential Specialists to work in a Mainstay model, a community-based residential program, in the Pittsburgh, PA area, for participants with intellectual developmental disabilities and/or mental illness & other problematic behaviors. Therapeutic Residential Specialists are responsible for the support and enhancement of the quality of life of participants served, by assisting in day-to-day activities that promote positive outcomes, with a focus on community and personal safety. Duties include, but are not limited to: role modeling in life skills & healthy choices, transporting to & from appointments, accessing community resources, community engagement, shopping, vocational development, crisis management and medication monitoring.

Starting salary range: $12.00-$12.69/hr.

Job Requirements/Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have a high school diploma/GED (minimally), and a valid & current driver s license. Prior experience/education in social services field is preferred, as well as a history or knowledge of working with adults with IDD, significant mental illness and/or other problematic behaviors. Must be able to pass background check screening.

Full-Time, Part-Time, and On Call positions are available. Comprehensive benefits package is offered for full-time workers, only.
