UI SOFTWARE ENGINEER



Primary Responsibilities

Located at Grace Lake Corporate Center (GLCC) in Van Buren Twp., Michigan, Visteon Corporation Visteon Corporation is looking for talented, passionate individuals to join our User Interface Software Development team. We are looking for a strong UI software engineer to push our fully reconfigurable clusters to new levels. The ideal candidate has experience developing in C and C++ for embedded systems and has a good understanding of graphics tools such as Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. You will work across all aspects of a fully reconfigurable instrument cluster UI software implementation.



Typical Duties



* Collaborate effectively with a team of artists, designers and programmers to offer creative solutions to both art and embedded system design challenges

* Review and analyze system requirements to develop efficient embedded software designs

* Implement and test software designs on a PC environment as well as on embedded target hardware

* Find new ways to implement complex UI features working closely with the technical artists

* Develop the next-generation fully reconfigurable instrument clusters for a major North American Automotive OEM



Required Skills:

* Must have a good knowledge of C

* Experience developing in a multi-threaded environment

* Experience developing software for real-time embedded systems

* Strong knowledge of basic software engineering concepts such as object-oriented programming and design, software configuration management, unit testing, functional testing.

* Able to work with third party supplier SDKs and APIs.

* Able to work well as part of a global team

* Demonstrates good communication, in order to train and mentor others

* Able to work with minimum supervision

* Able to think creatively to resolve technical challenges and limitations

* Have excellent organizational skills



Requirements

Years of Experience: 1-5 Years Prior Experience in a related position

Degree Required: Bachelors in Engineering



Desired Competencies/Experience



* Experience in automotive or gaming industry

* Familiar with AGILE software development values and principles

* Developed MISRA compliant code

* Familiar with MS Visual Studio development environment

* Familiar with QNX Operating Systems

* Interest in 3D Graphics rendering, video game development

* Skilled in Python scripting
