Job Description

The VP of Customer Experience will oversee a company-wide initiative to deeply understand, map,
improve and learn from the touchpoints our target customers care about most. The Cypress Customer
Experience (C2X) is expected to transform the company by building a large global community of engaged
customers who buy more of our products and services, tell us how to improve and promote us to others
because they are happy with their overall Cypress experience.

The CEO and all of his direct reports across every function and business unit are fully committed to this
corporate initiative. They are also accountable to driving C2X results with a significant portion of their
executive performance and compensation metrics tied directly to this initiative.

This Customer Experience leader must be a master at leading transformational change in a global, fastgrowing
B2B company with a keen understanding of the essential importance of data-centric learning
and action.

Key Responsibilities

The VP of Customer Experience will be responsible for leading the 2018 C2X company initiative starting
at launch our expert domain partner, to develop the strategy, phased implementation roadmap and
metrics/learning platform of processes, tools, talent, etc. The launch with our partner will include an
extensive global collaboration with internal stakeholders, target customers, key partners, a large crossfunctional
tiger team and our executive staff.

Examples of major objectives and deliverables for our C2X initiative are listed below.

o Understand the Cypress strategy, brand, business and go-to-market models
o Understand Cypress customers/partners, how they think and what matters to them
o Understand the various touchpoints that create the customer experience
o Identify key moments of truth
o Identify gaps, pain points, inconsistencies
o Identify unexploited opportunities
o Identify cultural and organizational boundaries and possibilities
o Define and design what to measure and how (analytics, metrics dashboard, etc.)
o Prioritize and plan all cross-functional initiatives including resource budgets


Complete alignment and commitment to Cypress values and brand promise (see Cypress
playbook: The Bridge)
o 8+ years of proven success in building up and leading Customer Experience initiatives at
the Director or VP-level in relevant, high growth organizations
o Seasoned builder, developer and leader of large cross-functional teams
o Well-versed in understanding and prioritizing requirements for technical enterprises to
engage customers and partners of all sizes
o Clear focus on driving business outcomes that achieve strategic and financial targets
o Proven ability to collaborate, communicate and drive change across all levels of an
organization including top executives
o Visionary, strategic thinker with a knack for persuading and negotiating with internal
and external audiences
o Lead with player-coach mentality, empower teams to solve problems creatively, and
motivate and mentor up-and-coming talent hands-on
o Excellent communication and presentation skills
o Relevant Bachelor s degree; preference for degrees with strong analytical base
