The Atlas Copco North American Service Center has consistently experienced double digit growth over the last five years. As a result, we re now looking at recruiting a Warehouse Engineer to strengthen our warehouse analytics team and help us take the warehouse
operation to the next level.
The Atlas Copco North American Service Center (NSC) has become the logistical hub for the Compressor Technique and Construction Technique business areas in North America, supporting the aftermarket operations of Atlas Copco Compressors, BeaconMedaes, Pneumatech,
CP Compressors, Quincy Compressor, as well as Atlas Copco s Construction Technique customer centers in the US and Canada. It also supports the Industrial Technique business area acting as the distribution hub for the CP Tools business.

The service center operates out of two facilities (both located in Charlotte, North Carolina), with a total footprint of 215,000 square feet and ships around 975,000 order lines on a yearly basis. In order to exceed service level expectations the NSC manages
approximately USD 40 million in stock on hand, and carries over 36,000 different spare parts on the shelves.

A committed team of 140 employees make it happen on a daily basis.
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Engineer to join our North American Service Center team in Charlotte, NC.
Responsibilities:
The Warehouse Engineer will lead projects of cross-departmental impact, identifying process improvements, and bringing projects to successful conclusion while exceeding internal and external customer expectations. You must be a self-starter with detailed
follow-through, and an outside-the-box thinker with great organizational and interpersonal skills.
You will report to the Warehouse Manager, and you will be 100% focused on efficiency, quality, and safety related projects that should make a direct impact to our operation (timely, accurate, efficient, and safe coordination and execution of all warehousing
activities). To succeed in this mission, it will be essential to develop and maintain an expert understanding of warehouse process flows and warehouse operations, as well as to become a power user of all tools used to run the operation (SAP, BPCS, WMS, etc).
Some of your main responsibilities will include:

Mapping and benchmarking current warehouse processes (all aspects of the physical warehousing process);

Continually identifying areas for efficiency improvement / waste reduction;
Putting together, implementing, and executing efficiency improvement action plans to ensure on-time and on-budget completion, and to ensure efficiency gains are achieved;

Evaluating current warehouse metrics / KPI and implementing new KPI s (where applicable) to drive the operation;

Becoming a system power user and administrator, in order to take full advantage of the system s functionality;

Monitoring and enforcing that warehouse space utilization and item storage guidelines are adhered to at all times to reduce inventory holding costs and facilitate accurate inventory interactions

Assessing current warehouse location system and layout, and recommending layout optimization in order to facilitate the WMS implementation and to reduce pick time;

Identifying safety hazards and implementing corrective action.

Qualifications:

Minimal of 1-2 years relevant work experience, with a proven track record in fields related to lean warehousing, warehouse process mapping and process improvement, warehouse design/layout and barcoding.

Bachelor s degree in Business/Engineering/Supply Chain is required

Formal Six Sigma/Lean Warehousing training is a plus.
Warehouse Management System (WMS) exposure and knowledge is a must.
Project Management experience with solid supply chain IT and SQL/query writing knowledge.

Strong Analytical skills, including root-cause analysis.
Must be detail oriented with excellent planning, organizing, and executing skills.

Strong Communication skills, both written as well as verbal are highly desired.

Results driven; does not give up easily and can cope with pressure.
Proven safety track record.
