POSITION DESCRIPTION Essential Job Functions:This position reports to the MST Execution Management Team under the NCE Directorate. The Logistics Management Specialist II candidate will support the IT/IS supports the MST Execution Management Team. Develop life cycle support plans for systems transitioning from BRAC affected sites. Individual will be a member of the Supply Chain Organization providing end-to-end (i.e. Requisition to Supplier Payment) support to the critical processes of the Supply Chain. Individual will provide support to Subcontract Manager, Buyers, ILS Leads, Accounts Payable, and Program Control personnel to assure timely process of Receipts into the Oracle Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) information system.Key Responsibilities: Provide support for assigned systems and activities associated with O&M planning, provisioning of spares/consumables, inventory/asset management, reliability/maintainability assessment. Conduct industry/market studies; provide input to technical proposals, Statements Of Work, and system specifications. Write new maintenance plans, monitor/replenish stock levels, and collect Total Cost of Ownership data. Provide recommendations to reduce costs. Duties and qualifications, identifying both essential and marginal duties:The ideal candidate must be an effective communicator, self starter, and possess solid configuration management skills, and an understanding of the customers environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. Duties include the following:Keep accurate records of all goods shipped and received; maintain records, prepare shipments, and accept deliveries Experience in wrapping / packing goods for shipmentWorking knowledge of Government and DOD Policies and Regulations.Knowledge of weight handling equipment; potentially to include forklifts, pallet jack and dolly to transport the shipment to and from loading docksProcess invoices to be forwarded to AP for paymentCheck shipments for discrepancies and coordinate proper corrective actionRoute / move shipments to the proper department, warehouse section, or stockroom Arrange for adjustments with shippers whenever merchandise is lost or damagedControl receiving operations, such as truck scheduling, recording of shipments, and handling of goods of all sizesKnowledge of computer based supply programs a plusOracle knowledge preferred but not mandatory Requirements: Education, Skill, and Experience Requirements:3 years experience on programs / projects of a complex nature of which a minimum of 1-year experience is directly associated with the disciplines of Logistics Management. BA in a business discipline, BS in a technical discipline or equivalent experience and 1 -4 years of experience. Must have a strong demonstrated working knowledge of:Basic understanding of IT Logistics principles, compilation/linking processesExcellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skillsMid-level training in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Microsoft Word and PowerPointWell organized, accurate, with excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills as well as team player Logical reasoning, troubleshooting and creative problem solving skillsIdeal candidate should have:Demonstrated ability to test and document own work effectivelyExcellent time-management skillsAbility to multi-task to timely completionAbility to interpret technical documentation and business communicationExperience can substitute for educational requirements
