Western NY. Steamfitter Apprentice. Recruitment for apprentices; duration of program is 60 months. Requires a HS Diploma or GED recognized by local school authorities. Must attest that he/she can physically perform work duties. Must have NYS driver's license in order to operate company vehicles. Must be a resident of the Local's jurisdiction for 1 year (Zone A- all of Erie & Wyoming Counties; Genesee County- only the towns of Alabama, Oakfield, Elba, Pembroke, Batavia, Darien and Alexander; Zone B- all of Niagara County; town of Yates, Ridgeway and Shelby in Orleans County; Zone C- all of Chautauqua & Cattaraugus Counties and the townships of Allen, Amity, Alma, Angelica, Belfast, Bolivar, Caneadea, Centerville, Clarksville, Cuba, Friendship, Genesee, Granger, Hume, New Hudson, Rushford, Scio and Wirt in Allegany County). Must take a drug test at the expense of Local #22 after selection as an apprentice. Must pass a qualifying battery basic "Work Keys" assessment (applied math & reading). Recruitment period is from March 3, 2009 through February 2, 2010. Applications will be available @ Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #22, 3651 California Rd, Orchard Park, NY on the first Tuesday of each month from 9am-12 noon during the recruitment period. Applications will also be available at the NYS Dept of Labor offices in Olean, Jamestown, Albion & Dunkirk, 8:30am-4:30pm, M-F during the recruitment period.
