PRIMARY FUNCTION(S) Maintenance and modification of the computer programs; the life cycle function of systems; research; requirements analysis; systems engineering; software engineering; software design; configuration management; modeling; simulations; human factors engineering for system level software design; system level software architecture studies; operating system software; tactical data system applications of software reengineering/re-hosting; system level hardware and software integration; software development; system interface tools development; functional assessment; administration support; integration; development assessment; test; test analysis; system validation; experimentation; specification development; feasibility demonstration of technologies; maintenance; enhancements; and support for quality assurance of systems. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Specific Responsibilities Apply management analysis processes, statistical methods, and advanced technical and analytical research techniques to determine solutions based on client requirements. The Analyst determines client needs, mission requirements and operational activities to obtain a quantitative, rational basis for decision making, project planning, risk mitigation and resource allocation. Employs process improvements and reengineering methodologies and principles for modernization of systems, functional and organizational processes and projects. Develops and designs project plans to achieve performance based objectives and requirements that enhance system or organizational performance and service levels. Analyst disciplines include but are not limited to engineering analysis, requirements analysis, risk analysis, logistics, modeling and simulation, operations research, environmental analysis, planning, configuration/data management, defense/intelligence analysis, policy analysis, project control, business process reengineering and scheduling.
