Position Purpose:This position is accountable for coordinating and implementing cost-effective fundraising activities in Upstate communities. This position recruits volunteer participation, corporate participation, and secures financial sponsorship at the Senior Executive level..Position Responsibilities:Recruit, orient, train, and engage active performance of high-level volunteers to exceed fundraising goals for events. This position secures financial gifts from the community, corporations and individuals.Manage and provide leadership to volunteer committees and boards to ensure that committee members are fully supported and accomplish tasks required for a successful event including solicitation of sponsorship and CEO corporate support.Actively seeks opportunities in the community for volunteer engagement, financial growth and generation of new contributions. Accomplished through volunteer engagement, cold calls and strategic research and execution of plans. Prepare and maintain accurate records/data to evaluate success of events. Work with media to publicize mission/events, and secure local sponsorship for events to heighten public awareness and reach fundraising goals.Work with program staff and volunteers to ensure that every event contains program content to enhance the knowledge of the audience and general public regarding the March of Dimes mission, programs, special services and benefits for mothers and babies..Qualifications Required:Bachelors degree or equivalent1 to 3 years of professional fundraising requiredSales and marketing experience, volunteer management and development experience, and high-level time management and multi-tasking skills required.Excellent computer skills, especially Word and ExcelExcellent verbal and written communications skills requiredDetail oriented; adaptable; organized; and ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasksMust successfully complete a credit and criminal background checkValid drivers license and carApplicants are required to submit their resume at www.marchofdimes.com/careers.
