Duties:

SUPERINTENDENT I Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. On a large project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area. On a small- to medium-sized project, coordinates and directs multi- discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project. Bechtel has been selected to Engineer, Procure, and Construct multiple Coal-Fueled Power Plants in Illinois. Bechtel has an immediate need for experienced, highly motivated Electrical Superintendents to support this project. The Electrical Superintendent will supervise Electrical General Foremen, Foremen, and Craft. He will be responsible for all electrical installations in all areas including all temporary construction power, yard, underground electrical duct bank, site grounding, and various other systems. The Electrical Superintendent will work closely with management the and the other discipline superintendents to coordinate day-to-day work activities and establish the 3 week look-ahead and overall site construction schedules. He will also be responsible for progress and performance reporting for assigned electrical and electrical instrumentation commodities. His duties will include determining tool and consumable requirements; specifying and requisitioning tools and consumables, establishing manpower requirements, and electrical support to all other disciplines. Candidates must have a current knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) requirements for all electrical installations and must be able to design, specify, and supervise the installation of large temporary power distribution systems. He or she must value safety as the primary performance objective. The Electrical Superintendent will report to, and receive direction from, the Lead Electrical/Instrumentation Superintendent and may be required to fill in for same as required. He will be responsible to provide progress and performance reporting and work with the Lead Electrical Superintendent to develop and maintain the site construct
