National Grid is looking for a Forestry Supervisor to work in our Distribution Forestry Department. The selected candidate will supervise daily activities of both internal and external resources to ensure completion of the Annual Cycle Trimming program and completion of identified Reliability and Customer driven trimming/clearing programs. Other responsibilities include ensuring work plan deliver is in compliance with budget, schedule, quality and safety standards, audit and evaluate vendor performance; program compliance with National Grid's company's fiscal, environmental, and regulatory standards; and collected program data.


The Selected candidate will also be responsible for the following;


- Execute a Vegetation Management sourcing model that utilizes both internal and external resources to deliver the Asset Strategy & Policy annual work plan
- Conduct public education session, respond to customer inquires and foster relationships with local officials.
- Implement National Grid company's storm/emergency restoration policies and procedures. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the restoration effort.
- Through inter-departmental coordination, provide professional, technical, legal, and scientific input to other National Gird departments.


Job Qualification:


- Minimum of a two year degree in Arboriculture, Urban Forestry, Forestry or a related natural resources field from an accredited school or related experience preferred.
- Arborist Certification from the International Society of Arborists preferred.
- Highly preferred working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.269 Line Clearance Tree Trimming Operations, American National Standard A-300 & Z-133, National Electrical Safety Code 218 Tree Trimming.
- Must have strong skills in public speaking, decision making, leadership, fiscal management and self motivation.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
- Desired work related experience in the following areas: utility line clearance, contractor management, fiscal accountability, managerial decision making, public speaking, and natural resource field experience.
