Join the POMCO team as a Medical Claims Associate/Customer Service Trainee

Purpose:
You will be responsible for processing medical claims for our various clients, as well as assisting enrollees and providers who call in with questions concerning their covered services and claims. Chosen candidates will complete a twelve (12) week, in-house training course upon being hired.

You will develop a comprehensive knowledge of their assigned benefit plans, become proficient with POMCOs processing systems, and learn how to respond to inquiries while practicing excellent customer service skills. All successful candidates will be positive, responsible individuals that are able to embrace change and adjust easily to new situations. They will also possess strong organizational and customer services skills, and be proficient in the use of Microsoft office, including Outlook.

Trainees will:
Develop working knowledge of reference sources such as, but not limited to CPT, ICD-9, HIPAA, Tabers and PDR.
Develop the ability to apply fundamentals to actual claims processing utilizing reference materials.
Attain and maintain expected volume and accuracy of claim payment throughout training period.
Develop working knowledge of how to respond to customer service inquiries according to pre-determined corporate standards and resources (i.e. administrative manual) and client health plan benefit guidelines.
Promote and maintain positive relationships with team members, cross-functional areas, clients, enrollees and providers.
Maintain accuracy of assigned resources including but not limited to the administrative manual.


Qualifications include:
Associates degree (AA) or equivalent; or six months to one year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to provide excellent customer service (external or internal) in the day-to-day business environment.
Ability to promote a positive, productive and professional working environment, including sensitivity, understanding and respect of all internal and external customers.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to accept change, new ideas, and adjust easily to new situations.
Ability to promote a positive, productive and professional working environment, including sensitivity, understanding and respect of others.
