This position will be a part of an export/import compliance team and serve as Export/Import Compliance Coordinator for LM Sippican, Inc. business units as required.
The person selected will work with all levels of management, technical, procurement/sourcing and business development personnel to identify program requirements and licensing needs.
Daily responsibilities include: Support to ensure that export/import procedures are effectively administered and adhered to. Requires ability to implement Corporate and local site policies and procedures. Provide guidance on export/import controls, licensing and compliance to LM Sippican personnel. Prepare and submit license applications, ensuring compliance with license provisos.
Person selected may be required to work with site export lead, to draft TCPs and/or TTCPs as required. Conduct screening of all parties to export/import transactions, notifying the EO of any potential violations, fines, penalties, seizures or disciplinary action imposed upon the company. Person selected may be required to assist in develop and conducting export training and compliance programs.
Support Internal compliance assessments and corporate audits of import/export activities as required.
Oversee the coordination of foreign person visit requests with local security office. Provide review and approval of Electronic Shipping Notices (ESNıı s). Review documents, presentations and other material for export compliance prior to release, supporting line of business activities with regard to trade shows, exhibitions, meetings and conferences. Ensure all export/import records are maintained IAW with US laws and regulations.
Support import activities and resolve US Customs issues as required. Analyze government export/import laws and regulations and their application to the activities of the business unit.
Follow established procedures for: records management, hand carried exports, compliance by other company organizations engaged in export/import activities, export licensing, international travel, international mail, classification of technical data, foreign visitors/employees, screening of parties to an export, Part 130 reporting, electronic transmission of tech data.
Person selected will be required to participate in various MS2 team activities and assignments. Person selected must be willing to work overtime to support program export/import compliance requirements as needed. There will be some Overnight Travel required.Requires a high degree of oral/written communication skills and the ability to interpret and apply complex Government regulations, as well as the ability to research and interpret International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR.
