0040984Ability to read, write and understand job related information in English. Be able to learn, recall, and apply safety rules and work procedures. High School Graduate. Communicate by speaking with and listening to supervisors and co-workers. Be able to safely operate hand-held equipment and tools (such as spike maul, claw bar, track jack, air hammer, power wrenches, rail drill, rail saw, etc.) Must be able to make visual inspections, detect and interpret visual color signals at near and far distances, and recognize sounds and changes in sounds that function as warnings. Be capable of solving problems, working with little or no supervision and working as a member of a team. Must be able to exert muscular strength sufficient to lift and carry relatively heavy equipment; dig; climb; walk on uneven terrain; be flexible to bend and stoop. Possess valid drivers license and ability to obtain CDL if required. Drivers license required to operate employer vehicles as assigned.
