Duties: SUPERINTENDENT I Assigned to a field construction organization in a supervisory capacity. Responsible for supervising and directing operations within assigned discipline or area. Supervises and directs craft activities, subordinate superintendents and others, as assigned. Ensures assigned construction operations and subcontractors performance are in compliance with specifications and within schedules and budgets. Performs general functions inherent in all supervisory field positions. On a large project, schedules and directs the sequence of work for several crews of related crafts operating within a single area. On a small- to medium-sized project, coordinates and directs multi- discipline craft activities within a specific area of the project, or all related crafts of a single discipline covering all areas of the project. The Power Block Area Superintendent is responsible for the planning and execution of all aspects of work perfomed by Bechtel direct hire craft and subcontractors in the Power Block. Responsibilities to be included but not limited to the following: -Coordination of all work activities in the Power Block. -Coordinate subcontractor labor supervision and craft distribution -Ensure performance and productivity of direct hire construction work performed on the project -Plan and schedule all work activities in the Power Block -Coordinate subcontractor work activities in the Power Block -Interface with Labor Relations for craft recruitment and training programs -Optimize the use of construction equipment and tools in the Power Block -Supervise layout, construction, and maintenance of temporary facilities in the Power Block -Provide constructability suggestions and input -Provide leadership for the safety, accident prevention, and fire prevention programs in the Power Block which include: -Inspect the site for unsafe conditions and practices and take appropriate corrective action to correct all observed problems -Lead weekly tool box safety meetings Basic Qualifications: -At least 8 years experience in Fossil Power -Must have knowledge of the following disciplines: Piping,Electrical, Mechanical, Civil-Structural and Distribs -Must have the right to work and remain in the United States
