As a Principle Sales Engineer at PayPal you would work the largest name brands on the web including Walmart, American Airlines, Sears, Nike and many others to bring our unique alternative payment to their online stores. Using your background in payments you will act as a sales consultant and solution architect to define how PayPalýý s Express Checkout products can be utilized to the merchantýý s advantage. Primary Job Responsibilities

As the Principle Sales Engineer you would be responsible for providing exemplary pre-sales product expertise through product presentations, product demonstrations and on-going product consultations throughout the pre-sales phase. In the role you would work directly with large and enterprise class name brand merchants.

You will assess merchant requirements, prepare and present mockups and demonstrations. This work would help merchants understand how to successfully utilize PayPalýý s products to meet their needs. Top candidates will demonstrate the ability to answer functional and product questions as well as assist the merchant in understanding the necessary project steps and get them comfortable with the overall scope of the implementation.

The Principle Sales Engineer will be responsible for the developing the Preliminary Scoping Document (PSD) and managing the product aspects of the pre-sales cycle. This would include working with the Integration Consultants to develop detailed proof-of-concepts when necessary.

Internally, the Principle Sales Engineer will provide input while reviewing product ideas in the very early stage with various product groups within PayPal as the voice of the customer. The Principle Sales Engineer will be expected to review product requirements to ensure the products proposed are viable and usable from an external perspective.

Specific responsibilities include:

ýýýWork hand-in-hand with PayPalýý s Enterprise Sales and Business Development teams to develop and communicate merchant solutions
ýýýConduct discovery meetings to determine the optimal solution for the merchant or partner specific situation.
ýýýCreate mock-ups and demonstrations required to complete the pre-sales cycle.
ýýýProvide an overview of PayPal products to merchants and partners.
ýýýProvide the Merchant or Partner with any relevant documentation for their specific solution.
ýýýCreate the preliminary scoping documents which outline the proposed solution and ensure it is agreed upon by PayPal and the Merchant or Partner.
ýýýMentor and Educate; Assist in providing internal training of upcoming releases. Mentor junior team members as needed.

This job will be based our of our San Jose, North First Street, PayPal headquarters.ýýýProven success in presenting to large name brand merchants and helping senior sales professional ýý close the dealýý .
ýýýA passion for learning new technologies and solving problems, and interacting with a variety of name brand merchants.
ýýýExperience with Internet technologies a must (Web Services/SOAP, HTML, HTTP, FTP, and SSL).
ýýýExperience with Payments (Credit Card, Banking, Online, Offline) a plus.
ýýýExceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
ýýýLimited travel required (25%+).
ýýý4+ yearýý s pre-sales experience (outside sales also acceptable)
ýýý4+ years internet technologies, programming/system architecture experience.
ýýý2+ years of PayPal or other payment experience.
ýýýExcellent verbal and written English skills.
