CTC has a full-time opening for a Senior Urdu Linguist/Analyst at its Ft. Meade, Maryland location. SENIOR URDU LINGUIST/ANALYST Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) supports our military intelligence government client on Fort Meade, MD, with linguistic and analytic expertise. The Pashto Linguist/Analyst will translate, process, analyze, and report activities in support of intelligence operations. The qualified candidate will be responsible for the transcription of spoken language into either the native language or a machine compatible transliteration system; translation of spoken language or graphic material into modern American English in either full or gisted format; scanning of foreign language material and assigning disposition codes in accordance with established guidance; drafting of reports as required; the creation of candidate database entries for government-maintained language dictionaries and language-related target folders, electronic workspace (eWS) tools, and profiles; and documentation of information gleaned from intercept regarding target, and provision of input regarding collection. The selected applicant will perform analysis of material in and of itself or in light of other source information; perform Quality Control of gisted and translated material as requested; sharing of language expertise with other Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel, as requested, and participate in Analyst-to-Analyst exchanges, seminars, or conferences as requested & approved by the client. A current and active TS/SCI Clearance with a full-scope polygraph is required for this position. CI polygraph candidates will be considered, but MUST be able to pass a full-scope polygraph. The qualified candidate must possess a Interagency Language roundtable (ILR) scale language skill Level 3: listening, reading, and translation. At a minimum, the candidate shall have extensive experience in language, literature, linguistics, or related humanistic fields, and have accumulated seven years cryptologic or related experience including a Bachelor's degree in related field. The successful candidate must also have an excellent command of the foreign language and the specific knowledge, talent, and skills necessary to function independently; be current on idioms, colloquialisms and slang and the cultural/social/political environment of the target language location. Must be skilled with MS Office computer products; basic internet research skills and an understanding of telecommunications and computer network communications fundamentals are also strongly desired, although not required.
