JOB SUMMARY:Transcribes patient exam interpretations and/or communicates results verbally to offices and Physicians; assists with transcription of other departmental correspondence.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Completion of an approved vocational technical program for medical secretary or medical transcriptionist; OR (see Experience). Experience: Three (3) years experience as a medical transcriptionist in either a Hospital setting or Physicians office. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/APREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: N/A Experience: One (1) year previous experience. Licensure/Certification/Registration: N/ASPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Typing skills; transcription skills; ability to perform duties accurately and efficiently; communicate effectively and courteously; answers phones and greets people courteously; ability to establish and maintain good working relationships; to understand written and oral instructions; to exercise good judgment and accept personal responsibility. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/LIFTING REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit for long periods of time, manual dexterity, and lift up to fifteen (15) pounds. WORKING CONDITIONS: N/A
