Location: Fort Meade, Maryland. Must Have a least a Secret Security Clearance. Candidates must be able gist, summarize and translate foreign language source material. Must be able to transcribe/translate advanced level graphic and/or voice language material into modern American English in either verbatim or gisted format. Must be able to read, write and speak the foreign language at a fluent or native level. Operate customer furnished transcription equipment in accordance with operational guidelines. Draft reports and reviews reports or more junior personnel. May prepare and present technical briefings to customer and upper management. May share language expertise with Government or Contractor Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel as required. Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a Department of Defense Secret/SC with Full scope Polygraph. Minimum six (6) months of prior, professional translation, transcription or interpretation experience is required. Must possess native or near native proficiency in the foreign language or possess a 3/3 rating on the DLPT. Requires a bachelors degree or equivalent experience, and five to seven years of relevant experience. Any prior translation, transcription or interpretation experience would be a big plus. Current languages of interest include: Arabic, Pashto (w/Dari, Baluchi, Brahui, or Waziri), Western Punjabi (w/urdu, Pashto, Baluchi, or Waziri), Urdu (w/Baluchi, Brahui or W. Punjabi), Urdu (w/Baluchi, Bjrahui, or W. Punjabi),Waziri (w/Urdu, Pashto, or W. Punjabi(, Somali. Limited potential in other languages, including: Baluchi (w/Urdu, Pashto, or w. Punjabi), Brahui (w/Urdu, Pashto, or W. Punjabi) Brahui (w/Urdu, Pashto, or W. Punjabi), Tajik (w/Uzbek), Swahili, Ga/Twi (w/West African), Xhosa.
