Specific Knowledge, Skill, & Experience Required:
The qualified applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of recent aircraft maintenance experience in the repair of T-56 engines and 54H60-77 propellers of complex to extreme difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including, but not limited to engines, auxiliary power units, generators, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components, with knowledge of structural repair of nacelles and QEC assemblies. Candidate applies technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies technical expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation. FAA Airframe & Powerplant certificate required. This candidate also applies professional technical expertise and guidance to solve complex problems by interpreting technical data such as blueprints or manufacturersýý manuals / specifications. Work at this level typically requires a thoroughly comprehensive knowledge of P-3 aircraft propulsion systems / component troubleshooting and repair procedures and replacement of components. Candidate shall possess a thorough knowledge of P-3 aircraft fuel systems and repair, with ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems, with the ability to provide technical support to maintenance management, propulsion / airframe engineers and customers. Additional job duties are required but not limited to: performs corrosion control, preflight and post-flight maintenance inspections, fuel sampling, miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, tow and jack aircraft, and enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily. This candidate will be required to make entries in aircraft logs and records, and is responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft maintenance and/or modification efforts. Tasking may require deployment to forward operating locations (detachments). Employment is dependent upon successful background security and drug screen.Must have a thorough knowledge of O level, I level, and D level maintenance and inspection requirements on the T-56 and 54H60-77 propellers.
