APPLICATION SECURITY AGENT
Salary Competitive; contingent upon labor market.
Position is contingent upon funding with a minimum starting salary of $55,000.
Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university

Preferred: Experience in higher education preferred.
Experience with PeopleSoft or Mainframe preferred but not necessary.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a self-starter, and will possess strong organizational and communication skills. While a background in technology or in application security is preferred, it is not required so long as the candidate is able to demonstrate organizational skills, an eye for detail, high ethical standards, and a willingness to embrace technology and provide excellent customer service.

The Office of Information Technology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas is seeking candidates for two Application Security Agent positions. These are full-time, 12-month, professional positions.

Primary responsibilities include:
Providing direct support to the mainframe applications security administrator and to the ERP security administrator with daily security tasks pertaining to the control of access to mainframe and ERP administrative applications and their underlying data.

Security tasks include granting and removing access according to established policies and procedures, assisting functional users on campus with selecting appropriate access for new users, and, when applicable, certifying or correcting existing security definitions or designing new ones.

Additionally, monitoring and auditing of system security profiles and access is performed on a regular basis. The incumbent will have frequent interactions with the campus administrative community and must have sufficient interpersonal skills necessary to provide effective, detailed technical services to non-technical users.
